The 5 elements apply to personality, disease predisposition patterns, and dietary considerations. You can read more on the Yin Yang dog. We also can incorporate Yin Yang diet using our Science based model in the development of Custom Meal Plans.
BARF Model (Bones and Raw Food) Barf Diets include, Muscle Meats, bones, organs, fruits, vegetables, and supplements.
Prey Model Raw Feeding is a raw food diet that includes meat, organ meat, and bone. This is also refereed as a 80/10/10 model, 80% muscle meat 10% bone 5% offal 5% liver. Prey Model raw feeders believe that vegetables and fruit aren’t necessary for a dog’s diet. There is no way to nutritionally balance a Prey Model as it lacks antioxidants, essential vitamins and minerals.
Rotational Ratio Diets Some believe that rotating their dogs food will cover all the necessary nutritional value based upon a 70/10/10/10 ratio. This falls similar to a Barf diet and requires years of education and study with no accuracy.
People understand that fresh foods is healthier than processed. But tend to get hung up when you mention feeding it raw.
There are over 180,000 different spices on this earth and only ONE cooks their food.
Health impacts – nutrient dense vs. empty calories
The vitamins and minerals are abundant in whole foods. Dogs also get the benefits that can protect against chronic diseases like cancer and cardiovascular disease. Whole foods are considered “nutrient dense,” meaning they contain a variety of nutrients, while foods that are heavily processed are considered to contain “empty calories.”
Eating a diet mainly composed of heavily processed foods, better known as kibble are empty calories. Kibble can negatively impact our dogs bodies and play a role in the development of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and certain types of cancer.
